Ms. Elzie Foust
October 2009
Today it is my privilege to honor a special
courageous woman: Mrs. Elzie Foust. Sister Foust is a leader among women and
an inspiration to all of us as a congregation. This month is the month that
we celebrate our annual Women’s Day and for years Sister Foust gave
leadership to this special emphasis, and what a blessing it was to witness
her gathering the women to prepare the church for the annual Women’s Day
festivities.
Sister Foust is a part of our Senior Choir
and Missionary #2. As we approach and celebrate Women’s Day ‘09, we will
take up a special offering for her and make a presentation to her honoring
and thanking her for her leadership and commitment to the Lord and to this
church. It’s always nice to give people their flowers while they can smell
them and to give honor to whom honor is due.
As some of us know Sister Foust is battling
with cancer and some other health challenges, but she has not allowed any of
those issues to discourage her or stop her. She is a strong and courageous
sister and her faith is to be emulated. It is my prayer that the Lord
continue to bless her and that she will continue to bless us with her faith,
her voice and the works of her hands.
